Baby news, and other updates.

IT'S A BOY!!!
And that is why we're both wearing three shades of Blue. My undershirt is actually "Baby Blue" like Michelle's shirt...
And all three of us are moving to Boston, hence the Red Sox hats.

We are really excited. I can sleep well at night, knowing there is a rightful heir to the LaPierre name and inheritance. Now we just have to make sure he gets raised correctly. If he's anything like his cousins or uncles we're in for a wild ride these next few years.

We just went for the ultrasound at the doctor's office last week. Lucky for us the technician was quite handy with the ultrasound machine so she got us some sweet pictures of Junior.
So, if you are not used to looking at ultrasounds you probably read the last line, saw the picture and thought I put up a sonar re-creation of the ocean floor. Well, this is the right picture. The big round thing on the left is his torso, the round thing on the right is his head and face. She had some better ones of his face, but we didn't get a shot of that one.

Here's another one.

Here you can see his large brain on the left, and his legs are crossed and on the right... he's already taking after grandpa.

School's Out for Summer
Next news, I finished my undergraduate degree today by taking my last final. It's been a great time here at BYU, and we are certainly going to miss our friends we've made here, and the warm weather for 9 months out of the year. Since it's the end of the year, we're getting our fair share of parties.

This is the fruit pizza that we made for our work barbecue with Evan's family and the rest of the Johson Lab. We were assigned to bring it again this year with the only requirement being that it "doesn't stick to the paper like it did last year" (jwiki.byu.edu).

Intramurals
Trying to take full advantage of the large amount of spare time that derives from doing a four year degree in five years, I've taken up BYU intramurals. Our ward team did really well. We had a cameo appearance by Junior's great, old aunt Renee.
No, she wasn't on the phone the whole time. However, the sign allowed her to cheer and talk on the phone at the same time.

As you can see, things got a little rough...
Christian caught a flying elbow in the kisser. That wasn't enough to stop this Rockin Romanian from playing. This is just a taste of what a hard core team we had this year.

So since our last post we have won two Intramural Tournament games. The latter game was an intense one that ended with a score of 9 - 7. The first half was not a pretty sight, but we pulled it together and dominated the second half. With 2 minutes left of the game the score was 7 - 7 so it was a good thing that one of our girls scored another amazing goal. Yeah BYU 54th Ward Soccer team. Here are some highlight videos.

Unfortunately, we barely had enough people to play our semifinals game. We lost by one goal after we were down two players on the field the whole game. It was a great season. And I'm glad I got to play.

St. Patrick's Day
Now, to finish the update on our lives. Saint Patrick's day was a fun time for us. We did a boiled corned beef and cabbage thing. It was the first time Michelle and Junior tried it. I think they both liked it. Since we are on this kick to be more festive we got dressed up for St. Patty's day... even Junior.
We still don't know when he's smiling, so we just go by what Michelle is doing. In this case he looks pretty happy.

Mom put me in charge of the distribution of the goods from home. So I figured I'd drop the traditional gift over as Laree's favorite friend... Lucky.
If you can't tell, that's a bowl of our freshly boiled corned beef and cabbage in my right hand and the familiar St. Patrick's Day treat in the left. This is my best luck pose.

Look what Michelle and I found
Who says Texas has the exclusive rights to everything that's bigger. Just when you thought that you've seen everything. Take a look...
That's a Honda Accord limo! We spotted that one going up to Logan. This is at the last light in Brigham City, right as you begin to ascend into the canyon. And yes, there is a Wal-Mart just to the right... That may have had something to do with it.

Well that was a nice burn for Travioli! He's not a rightful heir to the LaPierre name and inheritance?!
