More Projects

Happy belated birthday Simon! I found a sweet picture of you on the computer and thought it would make a memoir to my personal favorite youngest brother-in-law.

And though you may be two and a half feet taller now, I'll still think of you as the same innocent little boy that enjoyed being trapped inside two laundry baskets. We all are proud of you for growing out of your desire to be confined in small rooms with bars.

We've had our fair share of projects around here lately. Michelle keeps herself very busy trying out new baby patterns she finds. The latest and greatest being shoes for Junior. Here's a comparison of my shoe and Junior's.
Unfortunately, his shoes look a lot more comfortable than mine... and he's not even going to do much standing in his. I'm not sure I have permission to post this picture yet, since the other one isn't finished. I guess this is a preview for a later blog.

Michelle came up with a great activity, which we highly recommend to anyone. Do you remember Bob Ross, the painter with the PBS show that would walk you through how he paints a picture. The show that you would have preferred to watch commercials instead, when you were sick and stayed home from school. If you still don't remember him, he has a beard and curly black hair that forms a perfect sphere around his head. Well, we rented one of his videos from the library and gathered as many materials as we could find to follow along and make up our own paintings...

This last one was obviously Michelle's since you can tell what it is.

Not quite the same but still fun to paint....
Surprisingly mine.

It was a lot of fun... one of the best dates we've done. I think you should try it once. It may be helpful to note that his jokes haven't improved with 15 years of maturing since the sick days at home.

Last but not least, our Isaiah class project. Michelle helped me a lot with this one. We used sculpey clay to come up with a few basic symbols that Isaiah uses in his writings to refer to blessings of the last days. Thanks to this project and Michelle's support and help, I was able to do quite well in the class, after thinking that I might be in danger of failing earlier in the semester.
This thing was pretty crazy. It doesn't look like much, but it took a ton of time to make. I must admit that Michelle helped make about half of it.

So we are moving soon. We are having a great time here in Provo, and will really miss the friends we've made here. Last night we had a cook out with Reagan and Sarah. While there Sarah updated one of our pictures from last summer.

There he is, right after a 5k. Way to go.
Until next time, Paz y Buena.

The Latest Projects

Jamie and I have been hard at work having lots of fun and celebrating the fact that Jamie is graduated from BYU and no longer has school (at least for a few months). It has been a wonderful time! I spent a Saturday trying out baby clothes patterns. I made this onezee for Junior from a T-Shirt my dad gave us.

I'm not quite sure if I like the pattern so I might modify it for next time. Jamie has a whole pile of old T-Shirts that he wants to share with Junior. It's awesome. Hopefully they go faster than this one did.

This is Jamie's latest project! He has spent many hours this week sanding down and staining our coffee (hot chocolate) table and end tables into the beautiful result above. I love them! No more dents, holes, scratches, or water stains. He assembled them for me for Mothers Day. It was a wonderful gift. He also made me waffles. What a lovely day.

Hopefully all the other mothers out there had a wonderful day as well. We love you all!
